Junior Digital Project Manager - Swindon / Shrivenham

At Pixel Pixel, we are incredibly proud to have built a loyal base of returning and retained clients. These clients keep our creative team of web development and design specialists so busy that we need some help to stay on top of it all.

We are looking to add a Junior Project Manager to our close-knit team who will manage a range of innovative web projects - ensuring that we are making the most appropriate uses of our (and our clients’) time and resources. It's is a pivotal role for us as we continue to grow, as it allows everyone to focus on what they do best - be that strategy, design, development project management or client management.

How can you help?

As a Junior Project Manager, your role will be to oversee all our web and design projects from initial concept through to delivery. Working closely with our director, technical and creative teams, you will take ownership of tracking and assigning daily activities for the team, ensuring that resources are managed and tracked effectively, including retainers and budgeted hours.

You will run our weekly stand-up meetings, ensuring that everyone has appropriate activity assigned for the days ahead, and when needed, be able to shuffle around activities and priorities to suit a changing workload.

Our PM tool (ClickUp) is at the centre of our activity. We not only use it to track projects internally, but our clients also utilise it as a way of keeping up-to-date with development projects. So, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of all data flowing in and out of ClickUp will be an essential aspect of making the team successful and your job as easy as possible.

Our ethos is to provide our clients with direct access to experts, so while you won’t be required to have extensive client contact, you should be comfortable answering the phone to clients and providing an initial ‘triage’ of any technical issues raised, allocating to the appropriate team member.

What we think you’ll need?

We want our Junior Project Manager to have at least a year of experience leading or coordinating projects - preferably in a web development, design or digital environment. You will need to be highly organised, with an understanding of project management tools and reporting (while ClickUp experience would be great, any digital project management tool exposure would be an advantage).

You will have exceptional attention to detail, with an analytical mind to ensure you can spot any issues with resources before they arrive. You will also use your highly developed communication skills to provide clear expectations and be able to influence people on priorities when needed.

Why Pixel Pixel?

We offer a range of services to support clients from web design services, the development of supporting marketing collateral to the development of web applications. Acting as an extension of your marketing team or a standalone web design agency, we are proud of the long-term relationships we build with clients helping them with a diverse range of projects over time.

There is excellent scope for career development at Pixel Pixel, and you will always have the opportunity to learn and develop new skills. We believe that the more skilled our people are, the more value we can add to our clients.

As part of your continued development, you will receive access to Udemy and one day a month to devote purely to training activities. If you want to develop technical skills; you will have exposure to modern-web technologies, such as VueJS and Laravel and the opportunity to learn skills such as wireframing and UX. If you are more business-minded, there are opportunities to get more involved in the contract and client aspects.

Our office is a relaxed place to work; we have a casual dress code and a friendly and enthusiastic team. We aren’t a ‘silicone valley-wannabe’ type agency, we believe that having a good work-life balance is essential to a happy and productive team.

We don’t work ridiculous hours or resort to ‘crunch time’ around deadlines - when we do need to work extra hours to get a special piece of work done or resolve a particularly tricky issue that may be causing downtime on our client's website, we adopt a flexi-time approach to recovering time.

You will also receive a package of benefits including team lunches, a competitive salary and 24 days’ holiday. We usually shut down over the Christmas period as long as our workload permits and you will also receive your birthday off.

Where are we based?

Pixel Pixel is based in Swindon; our office is easily accessible from the A419 and M4. We will be relocating to Shrivenham over the coming months, so please keep this in mind when thinking about your commute.
